Fuerteventura is the island with the hottest reputation. Fuerte is also one of the canary island with the hottest choice of places to sail. There are hundreds of breaks alone up the north shore, far too many to sail.The problems lye in the fact, that the wind line wanders on a daily basis i.e.: you can be at one beach with no wind, while Cottillo 1/2 hour away can be howling!!

Aside from the hordes of sun- worshippers who descent on the island of Fuerteventura each year, thousands of windsurfing enthusiasts from all over the world come to take advantage of the clear warm water and strong winds. Some like myself are so enchanted by the almost constant wind, waves and the laid back lifestyle that they never return home and a fairly large community of windsurfing experts has taken root in the north of the island around Corralejo.

Fünfkampf Spitzensportler auf Fuerteventura

Nicht nur tausende Urlauber besuchen Fuerteventura jedes Jahr um sich vom Alltagsstreß zu erholen, sondern auch sehr viele Spitzensportler nutzen das milde Klima während des Winters und die optimalen Trainingsbedingungen auf unserer Insel.Das österreichische Nationalteam im militärischen 5-Kampf ist seit 3 Jahren "ständiger" Gast auf Fuerteventura um sich optimal auf die neue ettkampfsaison
vorzubereiten.
2006 werden die Weltmeisterschaften im militärischen 5-Kampf zwischen dem 16. und 25. August in Österreich ausgetragen.

Aus diesem Anlaß hat Fuerteventura Sport den Nationaltrainer Alfred Schütz zum Interview gebeten.
