Vega de Rio Palmas - Ajui
We start our tour in Vega de Rio Palmas, where 1.jpgevery year the "Virgen
de la Peña" is celebrated by the Majoreros . We walk through a
wonderful palm garden to the largest artificial lake of the island. A
narrow, sloping lane leads into the ravine with the millions of years
old rocks to the smallest chapel of Fuerteventura. After visiting the
chapel, the descent begins. The wonderful view, on oasis with small
ponds and the red-brown mountains, inspires us. Beyond the ravine we
follow the dry river bed to the right, with a palm oasis from past
times, up to the west coast to the fishing village of Ajuy. There we
visit the steep cliffs and the enormous caves. In a typical canarian
restaurant we are offered food and drinks. Notes: approx.. 5-6 hours

From coast to coast (Costa Calma - La Pared)
We are hiking through the narrowest place of 4.jpgFuerteventura. Starting
Point: Restaurante Taberna in Costa Calma. We start with an outview on
the first wind energy project on Fuerteventura - about 30 windmills
Everywhere we can meet goats. Later, we have a perfect view into the
highest and second highest mountains of the island, Pico de Jandía and
Montaña Cardon. In front of us is the grandiose west coast with its
wild-romantic cliffs and the fantastic, multicoloured sandstone
creations - we walk in direction to La Pared. In La Pared we
visit "the beach of the old king". At the end of our tour we have a
snack in a rustic restaurant . Notes: approx.. 3 1/2 hours

Hiking on the vulcans
This tour takes place in the north of the island. . Starting point is
the village Lajares, where we turn right to the Montaña Colorada,
passing 5 craters of the northern volcano mountain range. . Brilliant
view on the surrounding "mountain world", the small villages, the
golden dunes, the wild north coast, the baby volcanos and in the big
crater, about100 meters deep. Goats are crossing our way and the
clouds throw their shadow on the colourful stone world and the harsh
beauty of the island. . On the other side of the Caldeon Hondo we
return to Lajares. Notes: approx.. 4 hours
